The Grade 6 Scholars & Parents Welcome Programme of Royal College, held on 9th January 2026 at the Nawarangahala, marked a proud and meaningful beginning for the newest members of the Royal family.
The occasion was honoured by the presence of Nalaka Hettiarachchi, President of ROCOHA, as the Chief Guest, together with the Principal and the Secretaries of the Royal College Union (RCU) and the School Development Society (SDS). In a moment rich tradition, the distinguished guests were ceremonially escorted from the Junior Gate to the Nawarangahala, formally welcoming the young scholars into the Royal fraternity.
Addressing the new intake as an Old Royalist who once stood where thsese scholars stand today, Mr. Hettiarachchi delivered a heartfelt address that deeply inspired the gathering and received a overwhelming response from students, parents and old boys alike reinforcing that the Royal journey extends beyond academic excellence to character, service and lifelong brotherhood.
